Saori Anou Will Take On Anyone From Anywhere for Her White Belt

The Wonder of Stardom champion says that she will take challengers no matter the company, and hopes to defend the belt in multiple promotions.

On December 29th 2023, Saori Anou defeated MIRAI to become the 20th Wonder of Stardom champion. She was seconded by her tag team partner, Natsupoi, whom she hopes to defend the title against in the near future and promised to keep ahold of the White Belt until the High-Speed Fairy returns from injury.

Anou also said that she wants to face off against a wide variety of different people as the champion, saying: “If there’s a challenger for my belt, I’ll defend the title anywhere and maybe I’ll be able to break the record for most defenses in the process” Anou said, speaking optimistically of being able to defend across multiple different companies alongside STARDOM. Anou has been a prominent freelance name for the last few years, which included a 266 day-reign as the top champion of Ice Ribbon. h/t Tokyo Sports

However, her first defense will come from Oedo-Tai’s Starlight Kid, who won a rumble match at Korakuen Hall to be named as the first challenger to Saori Anou’s Wonder of Stardom championship next month. At the beginning of 2023, Starlight Kid graduated from the High-Speed division and her shot at the White Belt could be one to bring her back into the spotlight after returning from ankle injury last year at Gold Rush in November.
