Chihiro Hashimoto Retains at Sendai Girls The Top of Joshi Wrestling, Challenged by Spike Nishimura

Sendai Girls were in the National Yoyogi Stadium, Second Gymnasium for The Top of Joshi Wrestling, headlined by Chihiro Hashimoto defending against Mika Iwata. After successfully retaining, Hashimoto was confronted by her next challenger, Spike Nishimura.

Hashimoto had a tough battle with Iwata over the Sendai Girls World Title, needing a lot to put down the challenger. Iwata punished Hashimoto with strong kicks and deadly submissions, and Hashimoto returned in kind with ring-shaking slams and throws. Having landed a variety of stunning suplexes on Iwata, one final German Suplex Hold put Iwata down long enough for Hashimoto to score the pinfall victory.

As Hashimoto basked in the victory, still feeling the effects of Iwata’s attacks, a new challenger emerged in the form of Spike Nishimura. Earlier in the night, Nishimura made a successful defence of the Sendai Girls World Junior Title against Miku Kanae, finishing the match with the Angels Wings.

After the bout, Nishimura relinquished the Junior Title. Nishimura had reached the 3-year mark of her career, the cut-off for the Junior Title bracket. Nishimura won the title back in July, defeating Senka Akatsuki before making her first successful defence against YUNA later that month. Upon relinquishing the title, Nishimura made it known that Chihiro Hashimoto was her next target. Nishimura wasted no time at all, confronting Hashimoto after the main event and challenging her for the top prize in Sendai Girls.

The match has now been confirmed. Chihiro Hashimoto will defend the Sendai Girls World Championship against Spike Nishimura on October 10th at Sendai Sun Plaza Hall.

Elsewhere on the show, Natsupoi made a special Sendai Girls appearance on her retirement road, teaming with Saori Anou against Bob Bob Momo Banana. Natsupoi scored a pinfall after hitting Yurika Oka with the Fairy-ing Ring.

There was some other STARDOM representation on the card as Aya Sakura went one-on-one with YUNA. A decision could not be made either way before the 10 minute time limit expired. However, that did not stop the two women from continuing to throw hands, needing to be separated from one another.

Sendai Girls rookie Reina Takano also gave a spirited performance in the opener, teaming with Chi Chi to face Sora Ayame and Takumi Iroha. Takano showed no fear taking on the Marvelous ace, but was put down by a hard Iroha forearm for the pin.
