Alejandro Answers the Challenge Set by Twin Gate Champion Yuki Yoshioka

Pro Wrestling NOAH stars Alejandro and Kaito Kiyomiya set to challenge Twin Gate champions D’Courage on December 24th

By: Steven Jackson

After coming out victorious with his fellow D’Courage stable mates on December 3rd, Yuki Yoshioka shocked wrestling fans by calling out ‘Supernova’ Kaito Kiyomiya to a tag-team match on X.

Currently one half of the Twin Gate champions, Yoshioka teamed with Kiyomiya back in November 2022 at NOAH Global Dream in a losing effort against Kenoh and Kota Minoura. Since then Yoshioka has spoken of his frustrations not being able to go one-on-one with Kiyomiya during the 2023 N1 Victory tournament and his keenness to take on the ‘Supernova’ in the ring.

With Kaito Kiyomiya currently wrestling with Ryohei Oiwa as part of the NJPW World Tag League, it initially seemed that Yuki Yoshioka would have to had waited until the conclusion of the tournament for a response. However that wasn’t the case. After successfully defeating Dragon Kid and Eita on Night 4 of the Fantastic Gate 2023 tour, current NOAH star Alejandro appeared in Korakuen Hall, much to the surprise of Yoshioka.

Upon seeing Yoshioka’s tweet first-hand, Alejandro explained he too was very keen to face a wrestler himself. That wrestler is none other than Yoshioka’s fellow D’Courage stable mate and the other half of the Twin Gate Champions, Dragon Dia. As with Kiyomiya and Yoshioka, Alejandro and Dragon Dia teamed together at NOAH Global Dream, as part of a ten-man tag-team match.

After hearing Alejandro’s thoughts, Yoshioka accepted Alejandro answering his challenge on behalf of Kiyomiya. So, on December 24th, Kaito Kiyomiya will make his official Dragon Gate debut and team with Alejandro to take on D’Courage for the Open the Twin Gate championships.

Fans are still waiting to hear Kiyomiya’s thoughts about the upcoming match. But given the heavy toll of the New Japan Pro Wrestling World Tag League, may this match against D’Courage be one match too many for the ‘Supernova’?
