Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Kaito Kiyomiya battled Bishop Dyer at MAPLE LEAF PRO Wrestling’s Uprising event on March 28th in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Given the timing, there are implications that the old friend from WWE that KENTA’s been teasing could be Baron Corbin aka Bishop Dyer.
On March 27th at ROH and MLP’s Global Wars Canada event, Kiyomiya and Dyer were unsuccessful in capturing the vacant MLP Canadian Tag Team Championships in the Four Way main event. Following the loss, Dyer would turn on Kiyomiya, setting up a grudge match for the next night at MLP’s Uprising event.
Following the loss to the Good Brothers and betrayal from his partner Bishop Dyer, Kiyomiya would take to social media to shed some light on the situation:
“We lost to the Good Brothers, and failed to win the title…On top of that, Bishop, furious over the accidental hit, came at us. Seriously, he’s way too short-tempered.”

Dyer and Kiyomiya would go one-on-one in the 4th match of the evening on March 28th with both men looking like they could walk away victorious. It was ultimately Kiyomiya who was able to secure the win, turning Dyer’s powerbomb attempt into a sunset flip for a surprise 3 count at the 13 minute mark.
After the match, Dyer would make sure he had the last laugh, attacking Kiyomiya with a flurry of eblow strikes before hitting the former GHC Heavyweight Champion with his End of Days finisher in the center of the ring.
At the time of reporting, KENTA’s old friend has yet to be revealed, leading many to wonder if Bishop Dyer could be the one to answer Yoshiki Inamura’s challenge of wanting to face a former WWE superstar.
