Saya Kamitani has spoken about her ambitions to win the vacant Goddess of Stardom Tag Team Championships, which were vacated two days ago at STARDOM’s press conference for Nagoya Big Winter following Natsupoi‘s injury.
“I was so frustrated when I was away from the ring, but I think I’ve been able to become stronger because of that period of absence now that I know what the frustration of being unable to wrestle feels like.
Now that I’ve returned, I want to be a wrestler that everyone recognises not only as a singles performer but as a tag team wrestler with [Utami] Hayashishita. So, moving foward, I’m looking towards the Goddess belts.” h/t Tokyo Sports

If Saya Kamitani and Utami Hayashishita were to win the vacated titles, they will be the second team to hold the tag team championships twice – the first being Fukuoka Double Crazy (Hazuki and Koguma), who won the Goddess of Stardom titles in January and May of 2022. Their first reign as champions came in July 2020, which coincidentally was also for the vacant championships after Jamie Hayter was unable to return to defend them due to the pandemic.
As of right now, Goddess of Stardom Tag League winners Divine Kingdom (Maika & Megan Bayne) are claiming that they should be champions by default of winning the tournament, stating that their “first defence” will be on December 2nd.
Saya Kamitani’s return match will be on November 28th at Korakuen Hall, teaming with Hayashishita and AZM in trios action against Divine Kingdom and Mei Seira.
