Starlight Kid: “We’ll meet again someday. I’ll be waiting for you.”

STARDOM’s Starlight Kid sends a message to Nagisa Nozaki, who recently departed from Pro-Wrestling WAVE.

It was announced at yesterday’s Pro Wrestling WAVE show that Nagisa Nozaki had left the organization at the end of October, and would be becoming a freelancer once she is healed from her injuries.

One of STARDOM’s most popular wrestlers, Starlight Kid, went to SNS to send a message to Nozaki after the news, stating “We’ll meet again someday. I’ll be waiting for you.”

The two had previously met in the ring once before at Korakuen Hall’s 60th Anniversary show, “Joshi Pro-Wrestling Dream Festival“, which saw the Dark Sky Tiger teaming with Ozaki-gun (Mayumi Ozaki and Maya Yukihi) against Nagisa Nozaki, SAKI and Takumi Iroha in the main event.

Starlight Kid’s response to Nozaki goes further than just wanting to see her in the ring again.

As a child, her mother took her to watch NEO Japan Ladies Pro-Wrestling shows, which included cards with Nozaki on them. The World Famous Nozabitch was trained by Etsuko Mita (who teamed with Mima Shimoda as Las Cachorras Orientales) through the NEO Dojo, and since becoming a wrestler, SLK has wanted to wrestle Nozaki, a performer trained directly by the company she grew up watching. Last year, she posted a photo of herself with the “Ace of NEO” Yoshiko Tamura and Tanny Mouse.

The High-Speed Championship also originated from NEO and was moved officially to Stardom at Nanae Takahashi’s 25th Anniversary show at Korakuen Hall when Natsuki Taiyo (the title’s inaugural champion, signed with Stardom) defeated Leon to bring the belt under Rossy Ogawa’s promotion following NEO’s closure in 2010. Starlight Kid is a one-time holder of the championship, losing it to her eternal foe AZM in February 2022 after 178 days.
