Welcome to Puroresu Gate, a weekly feature where we review attendance figures of Puroresu and Joshi promotions in the most well-known venues in Japan.

This week, we are looking at the 1,800-seat Tokyo Korakuen Hall. Known as the MECCA of Japanese Pro Wrestling, this venue is used by every Puroresu and Joshi promotion and is considered sacred ground for fans and wrestlers alike.

As DDT readies itself for the annual, star-studded D-Oh Grand Prix tournament, it stopped off at Korakuen Hall for a significant show. It was headlined by Kazusada Higuchi, fresh off victory over Konosuke Takeshita, defending his KO-D Openweight Championship against former stablemate Yukio Sakaguchi.

One tournament began while another confirmed its final. It was a busy night for STARDOM and at the end of it, two of the company’s biggest ever names stood opposite one another, ready to make history.

STARDOM’s best might have just spent two months in the marathon that was the 5 Star Grand Prix, but now a new tournament awaits them. The Goddess of Stardom Tag League is the proving ground for tag teams, and the perfect chance to end the year on a high note.
