TJPW filled out Korakuen Hall for this year’s Stand Alone event, with all the promotion’s championships being put on the line. In the main event, Yuki Arai retained the Princess of Princess Championship over Yuki Kamifuku.
Arai stepped into Korakuen Hall looking to make her third defence, having already defended against J-Rod and Arisu Endo. Meanwhile, Yuki Kamifuku was making her first ever attempt at the Princess of Princess Championship, finally gunning for the top prize after being in TJPW since 2017. The boots of both women were well-used in this bout, with all manner of kicks landing on the face of both competitors. In the end, the bout was decided by Arai landing her Finally! axe kick, putting her challenger away to finish the night.
Arai did not have to wait long for her next challenger to emerge. Fresh off of defeating AEW’s Kris Statlander for the Pro Wrestling EVE International Championship in London, Miyu Yamashita arrived and made her way to the ring. Yamashita made her intentions known, wanting to hold the Princess of Princess Title once again. Arai welcomed the challenge:
Welcome back, Yamashita. I never expected you to be here today, so I’m a bit taken aback… Yamashita, if I managed to defend my title today, I was planning to challenge you next. I still can’t forget that match at the end of last year where you finished me off in seconds, no matter how many days have passed. No matter how many matches I have, no matter if I become champion or defend my title, I can’t forget that match. I believe that only when I’ve won this belt, only when I’ve defeated you, Yamashita, will I truly become a champion. So, Yamashita, I’m going to surpass you, and I intend to make this a day you’ll never forget—not just in your pro-wrestling career, but in your life. So, July 18th, right here at Korakuen Hall—how does that sound? I want to show both you, Yamashita, and everyone here that I’m a different Arai now.
In the semi-main, Miu Watanabe and Rika Tatsumi made their first defence of their Princess Tag Team Championships. They came up against the duo of Uta Takami and Mizuki. The challengers started off the match hot, getting early offence on the champions. While Takami and Mizuki brought a lot of fight and fire, the tag team prowess of Watanabe and Tatsumi came to the fore. Their slick tandem offence ultimately is what led the champions to their first successful defence.
Earlier in the event, Shoko Nakajima and Hyper Misao won a three-way against two other teams. After Watanabe and Tatsumi retained, Nakajima and Misao came to the ring to declare themselves as the next challengers.
The International Princess Title was also on the line at TJPW Stand Alone. Suzume stood across the ring from Mahiro Kiryu. Kiryu fought valiantly, looking to claim her first TJPW title, with the fans in Korakuen Hall cheering her along the whole way. However, the in-ring prowess of Suzume proved to be just too much for the challenger. Suzume’s Ring-a-Bell cutter was the final blow, brining Kiryu’s championship hopes to an end.
Suzume’s next challenger emerged after the bout, with Wakana Uehara setting her sights on the International Princess Championship. Speaking backstage, Uehara expanded on her desires to pursuit singles gold:
I’ve officially declared my challenge against Suzume. Last year, I won the title with Kamifuku, and we successfully defended it for six months, but we lost the belt in March. After that, I spent a long time agonising over what to do next. Then, as I continued competing in singles matches, I found myself wanting a singles title more and more. It was a really tough decision—I was torn between challenging for a tag team title or a singles title—but in the end, my desire for a singles title just kept burning brighter and brighter, which is why I’ve now officially declared my challenge against Suzume. I’m absolutely starving right now. Suzume-san once said in [an interview] that, whilst I’m a big eater, I also have an incredible hunger for pro-wrestling. I was so happy to know she was watching me so closely, and right now, both that hunger and my stomach are truly rumbling. No matter how huge a portion Suzume-san serves up, I intend to polish it off in a flash and take the belt.
