So Daimonji Vs. Yuya Aoki For BJW World Strong Heavyweight Championship Made Official For Nov. 25th

By: Lewis Carlan

The first defense for the current Big Japan Pro-Wrestling World Strong Heavyweight champion So Daimonji has been made official. On Nov. 25th, Daimonji will put his title on the line against former champion Yuya Aoki at Korakuen Hall. BJW made the announcement today on social media to sanction the bout.

Aoki challenged Daimonji for the title at the Oct. 31st BJW Korakuen Hall event, a challenge that was accepted by the champion. This led to Aoki being attacked by Jacob Crane and Minoru Fujita as they joined forces with Daimonji to form a new faction within BJW. What role the new faction will play in the upcoming match with Aoki on Nov. 25th remains to be seen but the odds are excellent that Aoki will need to watch his back.

Daimonji won the title on Oct. 13th when he defeated Daichi Hashimoto at a sold out Chateraise Gateaux Kingdom Sapporo in Hokkaido. Aoki is a former champion and holds the record for the longest reign as BJW World Strong Heavyweight Championship at 529 days.

Aoki took to social media and warned Daimonji that he better be prepared for their upcoming bout.

From Yuya Aoki:

It was the Korakuen Hall event. What happened after the match. I won’t deny it. But, for the title match at Korakuen Hall on November 25th, So Daimonji, be prepared. (Translated via Deepl)

Daimonji had comments of his own on social media in which he indicated that he is seeking the revival of BJW. Daimonji touched upon that drawing 1,000 fans is not enough, that he wants a full house on Nov. 25th at Korakuen Hall.

From So Daimonji:

It’s not about good guys or bad guys. What I’m seeking is the revival and prosperity of Big Japan. #bjw1000 ? 1000 isn’t enough. It will be a full house. Methods that can’t be done within the organization can only be done by creating an impact. Yuya Aoki, the organization’s way. The outsider’s way. Which one will be more interesting? It’s a battle. November 25, 18:30 at Korakuen Hall. So Daimonji vs Yuya Aoki. (Translated via Google Translate)

BJW has been promoting a new era ever ever since Daimonji won the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Championship on Oct. 13th. The promotion is looking to increase attendance at events such as the one on Nov. 25th at Korakuen Hall. BJW is hoping to start seeing 1,000 fans attending events at the famed arena which would be up from the 500-600 fans they have been averaging for quite some time.

If the promotion is looking to increase attendance, matches such as Daimonji vs Aoki for the top prize within BJW is a terrific start. Fans can expect a spirited battle when Yuya Aoki attempts to regain the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Championship from So Daimonji on Nov. 25th at Korakuen Hall.
