Shun Skywalker Announces He Will Be Leaving Dragongate

Another shocking pro-wrestling announcement occurred today as long time Dragongate superstar Shun Skywalker revealed that he will be leaving the promotion.

At Dragongate’s RAINBOW GATE 2026 event at Korakuen Hall, Shun Skywalker teamed with Hyo as they defeated Yuki Yoshioka & Ryoya Tanaka.

After the bout, Skywalker took the mic to address the crowd as he announced that he will be departing Dragongate. The crowd let out a huge gasp in unison after the announcement was made by Skywalker.

“I came to this ring today seeking a fight. And right now, that fight was right here in this ring. And as for my other purpose—I have something I must say while standing in this ring. Shun Skywalker has been with Dragongate since 2015 and has developed into one of the greatest superstars for the promotion. He has held multiple titles for Dragongate including the Open The Dream Gate Championship three times.

The loss of Skywalker will be a major blow to Dragongate. It’s unclear if he will become a freelancer or if he will be looking to join another promotion such as NJPW, Pro Wrestling NOAH, AJPW or another company.

It’s a safe bet to say that any of the major pro-wrestling companies in Japan would love to have Shun Skywalker on their roster.
