Kaito Kiyomiya Loses GHC Title to Jake Lee

For the Supernova Kaito Kiyomiya, the worst had come to be. At Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Great Voyage, GLG leader Jake Lee took Kiyomiya’s GHC Heavyweight Championship in his very first attempt.

We have reported on this whole rivalry since the moment Lee not only challenged Kiyomiya, but quite arrogantly notified him he was going to take his belt and let him rest. Kiyomiya had just come off of an already infamous loss to IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada in less than 17 minutes.

Even unrelated wrestlers have barged in the situation, with Kenoh asking Kiyomiya to retire should he lose the belt against Jake Lee. It’s safe to say the leader of KONGO has strong feelings about this outcome anyhow. To add further insult to injury, YO-HEY, who had partnered with Kiyomiya just five days prior, has now been revealed as a new member of GLG along with Tadasuke.

However, this shouldn’t be considered as a distraction or an enhancement in favor of Jake Lee. The reality is that Lee’s performance was consistent, effective and dangerous, hurting Kiyomiya with moves he truly couldn’t dodge. The then-champion tried his best to come back from jeopardy, but Lee took advantage of his superiority in size in comparison to that of Kiyomiya and kicked his way into a title win.

Before Jake Lee could fully celebrate, Katsuhiko Nakajima emerged as his first challenger, vowing to show him what Pro Wrestling NOAH truly is. Lee stands at the top of the promotion still regarded as an invader from All Japan with much to prove. However, for the Good Looking Guys, it’s all about living large as Jake Lee promises to “steer” the Ark. In regards to Kiyomiya, no public comments have been made by the former champion yet.
