Hiromu Takahashi Wants to Find Kenbai, Doesn’t Know Who AMAKUSA is

by: J. Curbelo

Ahead of the Jr. Heavyweight Champions showdown between NJPW’s Hiromu Takahashi and Pro Wrestling NOAH’s AMAKUSA at Keiji Muto’s retirement final, el Ingobernable is seeking the truth about the whereabouts of his old “Tokyo Tornado” tag team partner Kenbai. He seems purposefully unaware that AMAKUSA is Kenbai.

Tokyo Tornado was a short-lived tag team between the Japanese wrestlers on an excursion in the United Kingdon over nine years ago. Unfortunately, Kenbai seems to have “gone missing”. AMAKUSA is a man of many names, but he’s not one to recall them, as he made clear in a recent press conference.

When talking to Tokyo Sports, the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion said that he was even willing to go back to Michinoku Pro in order to find his comrade and revive Tokyo Tornado for this year’s Jr. Tag League. “BUSHI’s partner is Titan now. The only way for me to compete is bringing back Kenbai with me,” said Takahashi.

Takahashi wonders why this match is being labeled as a Tokyo Tornado Showdown since AMAKUSA and Kenbai are “unrelated to each other”, but he will earnestly compete in the match and do his best to defeat the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion and move on to keep searching for his tag team partner.

The colorful junior pleaded that if anyone has information on Kenbai’s whereabouts, they should contact him.
