Hanan Reveals Changes She Would Like To See Occur In STARS

The STARS unit first became a faction within STARDOM back in April 2018. Since the beginning, the faction has been led by Mayu Iwatani who is the current IWGP Women’s Champion and arguably the face of STARDOM. In addition to Iwatani, the current lineup of STARS unit members consist of Hanan, Saya Iida, Hazuki, Koguma & Momo Kohgo.

Hanan is one half of the Goddesses of Stardom Champions with partner Saya Iida and on April 27th, they will be defending their titles against STARS teammates, Hazuki & Koguma.

During the signing ceremony for that title match, Hanan voiced her concerns about the current state of STARS. Hanan indicated that she and Iida went out to a restaurant recently with a few STARDOM trainees. She asked the new recruits which STARDOM unit they had hoped to join and not one mentioned STARS.

This obviously did not sit well with Hanan who revealed that she would like to improve the unit. She mapped out the steps she would take in an attempt to achieve her goal.

From Hanan:

“First of all, I want to make it a unit that newcomers want to join. Iida-chan and I went out to eat with some trainees the other day, and when we asked everyone what unit they wanted to join, no one mentioned STARS. That’s why I want to improve our relationship and create an environment where the younger members can easily voice their opinions.”

 

“I want STARS to become something like the parents of STARDOM and lead the organization from the center. So, while it’s fine to think about individual goals first, I want to strengthen our unity so that we can prioritize the unit over the tag team. Hanan and Iida have been the Goddesses of Stardom Champions since December 29th 2024 when they defeated Momo Watanabe & Thelka of H.A.T.E. at Stardom Dream Queendom 2024. They have made two successful title defenses since becoming champions.
