David Finlay defeated Tomohiro Ishii to advance to the second round of the New Japan Cup earlier today in Tokyo for NJPW’s 51st Anniversary show. However, that’s not exactly what the wrestling world is focused on, as Finlay would come out accompanied by Gedo, fully embracing his entry into Bullet Club.
Finlay had attacked Jay White in San Francisco, after he lost two back-to-back matches with his stay in both the country of Japan and NJPW itself at stake. The result left many questions in the minds of fans regarding the futures of both Finlay and White, as well as that of Bullet Club.
It seems two of them have been somewhat answered, even if there is still no proper clarification on who the leader is. Both Finlay and Gedo have been vague about his position in the group’s hierarchy, as the latter just described the new member as a Rebel.
One thing is certain, and that is Finlay’s intentions of taking the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. “This is my cup. This is my club. This is my business. And this is my world,” claimed the fourth-generation wrestler.
