The heated war of words between AEW superstar MJF and NJPW superstar Ryohei Oiwa has reached a fever pitch with a potential match between the two expected to occur in the near future.
The latest exchange between MJF and Oiwa took place earlier today on X. Oiwa, who won the G1 Climax 36 tournament, unsuccessfully challenged IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji for the title at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling event on Oct. 12th.
A distraught Oiwa took to X to issue a comment and admitted he was frustrated at the defeat.
From Ryohei Oiwa:
“It’s frustrating. I gave it my all. I’ll get even stronger and go for the IWGP title! BIG DREAM never ends.”
MJF saw Oiwa’s tweet and responded in classic MJF style by giving his opinion on how Oiwa lost the match to Tsuji.
From MJF:
“You lost like a little bitch.”
Ryohei Oiwa issued a response to MJF and called him a clueless jerk:
From Ryohei Oiwa:
“It’s true I got totally crushed by Tsuji, but just when I was feeling nothing but frustration, seeing your comment really got on my nerves. You really are a clueless jerk!”
MJF appeared via video on the NJPW “ROAD TO KING OF PRO-WRESTLING 2026” event on Oct. 7th at Korakeun Hall and challenged Oiwa to a match to see who the real king of the headlock is.
A match between MJF and Ryohei Oiwa has reached highly anticipated status and should be officially announced soon.
