Sendai Girls put on a huge card for SENJO THE BIGGEST at the Xebio Arena Sendai, topping the bill with three big title matches. Spike Nishimura unseated Senka Akatsuki, while Red Energy and Chihiro Hashimoto held onto their gold, with the latter having a challenger step up in the form of Syuri.
Before the title matches, Sendai Girls expanded their ranks. Safire Reed and Anita Vaughan were both given the trademark red tracksuits by Meiko Satomura, welcoming them as official members of the roster.
Senka Akatsuki of Marvelous has been a rookie sensation since bursting onto the joshi scene. She stepped into the Xebio Arena looking to defend the Sendai Girls World Junior Heavyweight Championship for the fourth time. She stood across the ring from Providence, Rhode Island’s Spike Nishimura. Just shy of the ten minute mark, Nishimura hoisted Akatsuki up for the Angel’s Wings and planted her into the mat, scoring the pin and claiming the junior title. The championship is the first that Nishimura has won since joining Sendai Girls. After the bout, Nishimura was challenged by YUNA for Korakuen Hall on July 20th.
The Sendai Girls World Tag Team Titles were on the line as Mika Iwata and Miyuki Takase defended against Bob Bob Momo Banana, Yurika Oka and Mio Momono. Being three time champions themselves, Oka and Momono were a tough challenge for Red Energy. But, they were not tough enough. After a hard fought battle, Iwata hit the Lion on Oka and secured the win.
Then, in the main event, Chihiro Hashimoto defended the Sendai Girls World Championship against VENY. The challenger took the action to the outside, gaining an advantage over the champion in a wild ringside brawl. However, Hashimoto’s pure power was an effective weapon inside the ropes.
The two went to war for over 20 minutes in the Xebio Arena. But in the end, it was a crunching Albright suplex from Hashimoto, dumping VENY high, that put the challenger down for the count. Hashimoto completed her sixth defence of the world title, only for another challenger to appear.
The reigning IWGP Women’s Champion Syuri made her way down to the ring. The last time these two faced off, Syuri defeated Hashimoto by referee’s decision in a non-title match back in April. Here at SENJO THE BIGGEST, Syuri declared her challenge for the world title. A date for the match has not yet been set.
Before the Sendai Girls roster huddled together in the middle of the ring, Hashimoto proclaimed that the promotion would be back at the Xebio Arena next year on July 4th, 2027.
