TEAM 2000X’s OZAWA and Tadasuke added their first two points to the scoreboard on May 31st during the fifth day of NOAH’s NEO GLOBAL TAG LEAGUE at Aore Nagaoka in Niigata.
OZAWA and Tadasuke took on KENTA and Katsumi Inahata in the main event with both teams going into the match with zero points.
Young Katsumi Inahata had a solid showing against Tadasuke and former GHC Heavyweight Champion OZAWA. However, the heelish tactics from TEAM 2000X were too much for Inahata to overcome even with a legend like KENTA by his side.
After a distraction from YOSHITATSU and a cheap shot from Tadasuke, OZAWA picked up the win for his team after hitting a Swan Dive Moonsault onto Inahata at (14:49) giving them their first two points of the tournament.
During his post-match interview, KENTA would comment on the cheating ways of TEAM 2000X and also state that this tournament isn’t about wins and losses, it’s about Inahata getting to showcase his skills and how he can help with that.
From KENTA:
“What was that? They were cheating all over the place. And YOSHITATSU says, ‘Show me the evidence.’ Fine. I’ll show it. It’s all on today’s live broadcast. But if I prove it, then what? Look, this tour isn’t just about wins and losses for us. It’s about how much Inahata can show everyone, and how much I can help bring that out. We’re not done yet. Keep watching.”
Earlier on the card, KENOH and Naomichi Marufuji were able to recover from yesterday’s loss and secure a victory in the semi-main event over Kazuyuki Fujita and Mohammed Yone in (12:12) after KENOH trapped Yone in the KENOH Special for the submission, bringing them to 4 points in B Block.
NEO GLOBAL TAG LEAGUE will return on June 2nd at Shinjuku FACE and will be streaming live on Wrestle UNIVERSE streaming service.
