Daichi Satoh is still in high school, yet has risen through the ranks in DDT at an electric pace. Heading into his second year as part of the DDT roster, Satoh has a sparkling future ahead of him.
Satoh started wrestling at the age of 13 with Pro Wrestling HEAT-UP, before joining DDT in 2025 when he was 16. Satoh was thrown in at the deep end, his first match as an official roster member pitting him against the legend Jun Akiyama. Despite losing, Satoh showed great spirit against Akiyama, and has continued to show that spirit ever since.
The formation of paleyouth has brought even more success to Satoh’s young career. Alongside stablemates Takeshi Masada and Yuya Koroku, Satoh’s time in paleyouth has led him to championship gold. Back in March, paleyouth secured the KO-D Six Man Tag Team Titles, making them the first titles that Satoh has held during his time in DDT. Since then, paleyouth have made successful defences against Harimao d Fantomes Dramatic. With the King of DDT tournament on the horizon, Satoh has bundles of momentum behind him.
Monthly Puroresu caught up with Daichi Satoh to discuss his first year with DDT, his success with paleyouth, and what the future may hold for him.
Monthly Puroresu:
You have been a member of the DDT roster for just over a year. How do you feel your first year went?
Daichi Satoh:
This past year has flown by in the blink of an eye. It’s been the quickest year of my life so far. Although I felt a bit anxious at the time, with everything around me—my surroundings and the people I knew—changing just a year ago, it has turned out to be a really enjoyable and fulfilling year.
Monthly Puroresu:
What inspired you to become a pro wrestler?
Daichi Satoh:
I first watched professional wrestling on YouTube when I was in third grade, and at the time I thought, ‘There are actually people who can do such amazing things.’ That’s when I decided I wanted to be like them, and I set my sights on becoming a professional wrestler.
Monthly Puroresu:
Who have you learned the most from in DDT?
Daichi Satoh:
It’s Mr Akiyama. My first match after joining DDT was a singles bout against him, and my first title challenge after joining the promotion was also against him; even now, he continues to give me all sorts of advice.

Monthly Puroresu:
What is your biggest goal for your next year with DDT?
Daichi Satoh:
As this is my final year of high school, I naturally want to improve my skills even further. I’m aiming to win a singles title.
Monthly Puroresu:
You will represent DDT at the next UJPW show. How does it feel to be picked as a representative for your company? Is there a lot of pressure?
Daichi Satoh:
I don’t really feel any pressure, actually. If anything, I’m absolutely raring to go. I’m keen to really show everyone just how strong DDT is.

Monthly Puroresu:
paleyouth are the newest group in DDT. What do you think makes paleyouth different from other teams?
Daichi Satoh:
As this is a unit made up solely of members from ‘D GENERATIONS’, we may have less experience than other units, but we’re literally youngsters, so I think we have far more drive and potential for growth than any other unit.
Monthly Puroresu:
What do you see as your role in the team?
Daichi Satoh:
The leader of paleyouth is Take-chan (Takeshi Masada), and both Rock-sama (Yuya Koroku) and I tend to try and keep things balanced as much as possible.
Monthly Puroresu:
paleyouth are now KO-D Six Man Tag Team Champions. How did it feel to win your first championship in DDT?
Daichi Satoh:
I was just so happy. At the same time, I felt determined to help build up DDT even more through paleyouth in the future.
Monthly Puroresu:
How did you celebrate your championship victory?
Daichi Satoh:
We didn’t really do anything special to mark the occasion. (laughs) But I felt a bit more cheerful than usual that day.

The King of DDT tournament is coming up. You will face HARASHIMA in the first round. How are you feeling heading into the tournament?
Daichi Satoh:
This past year has been nothing but a huge learning experience for me, and I feel I’ve grown more than I ever imagined. I’m full of confidence when it comes to KING OF DDT.
Monthly Puroresu:
Your sister (Momo Sato) will be joining TJPW as a trainee. How does it feel to see her becoming a wrestler? What can fans expect from her?
Daichi Satoh:
I honestly think she should just give it her all. She’s a bit of a natural, and if that comes through in her matches, I reckon she could be something really special.
Monthly Puroresu:
Thank you for your time. Is there anything about you that Western fans might be surprised to learn?
Daichi Satoh:
As you probably know, I’m in my final year of high school! I really want people overseas to come and watch me compete while I’m still in school!! I’ll blow you away even more!
