The news was announced yesterday by New Japan Pro-Wrestling that their long time superstar EVIL will not be returning to the promotion when his contract expires at the end of January.
After weeks of speculation, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has confirmed that EVIL will be leaving the promotion at the end of January.
On Jan 25th, Kento Miyahara successfully defended his AJPW Triple Crown Title against the seven foot tall Talos at AJPW NEW YEAR WARS 2026 in Chiba. Miyahara scored the big victory after hitting the giant Talos with his patented Shutdown Suplex to retain his title.
On Jan. 4th, New Japan Pro-Wrestling held it’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 event in front of 46.913 fans at a sold out Tokyo Dome. The event proved to be a huge one for both Yota Tsuji and Aaron Wolf.
DDT returned to Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall to present DDT Mission In Battle 2026 on January 25. The card consisted of eight matches, and both of Yuki Ueno’s championships were on the line in triple threat matches against Chris Brookes and Daisuke Sasaki to headline the show.

On Jan. 24th, Marigold megastar Mayu Iwatani celebrated 15 years in the world of Joshi Puroresu with a big event at Korakuen Hall. Nearly 1,200 fans packed the famed arena to help Iwatani commemorate the milestone at Marigold’s “MAYU IWATANI DEBUT 15TH ANNIVERSARY ~ ICON FOREVER.
