Today at NJPW’s show in Utsunomiya, it was finally revealed that Yota Tsuji will be partnering with Zandokan Jr. for this year’s World Tag League. When the entrants for the 2023 World Tag League were announced, an interesting name was put next to Yota Tsuji that only said “Z”. Not “X”, “A”, “B” or “C”.
Zandokan Jr. has been called a rising prospect in CMLL, and his involvement in the tournament gives some more major representation for CMLL; Atlantis Jr. and Soberano Jr. are also in the World Tag League, teaming together.
Earlier this year, Zandokan Jr. performed at Fantastic Mania UK with NJPW’s partner company RevPro, where he and Okumura failed to capture the Undisputed British Heavyweight Tag Team titles against Subculture (Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews), then the next night he teamed with Lykos Gym (Kid Lykos and Kid Lykos 2) against Subculture and Titan in a losing effort.
The Z is indeed for Zandokan!

Zandokan Jr.’s partnership with Yota Tsuji will continue the long-standing bond between Los Ingobernables de Japon and Mexican company CMLL that goes back all the way to 2011. Yota Tsuji himself joined Los Ingobernables de Japon when he returned from excursion in June. He was formerly apart of Lord Gideon Grey‘s The Legion in RevPro alongside Shota Umino, but is now opposite his former leader as Grey is the Mastermind of the United Empire.
