Utami Hayashishita Indicates MIRAI Has Not Earned A Marigold World Title Opportunity

By Lewis Carlan

On April 25th, Marigold will present MARIGOLD Rising Spirit 2025 which is set to take place at the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

The main event will see the current Marigold World Champion Utami Hayashishita & Marigold Superfly Champion Victoia Yuzuki facing off against the formidable team of MIRAI and United National Champion Mai Sakurai.

Hayashishita is coming off a successful title defense back on March 30th against Bozilla and is now looking ahead to see who her next challenger will be.

Today, a press conference took place to promote the upcoming MARIGOLD Rising Spirit 2025 event and Hayashishita seemed to planting the seeds for MIRAI to possibly be the next challenger for her Marigold World Title. Hayashishita pointed out that while she wants to fight MIRAI, she hasn’t earned the right to challenge for the Marigold Red Belt.

From Utami Hayashishita:

“I did say that I wanted to fight MIRAI, but why do I have to fight for the belt against MIRAI who hasn’t produced any results? This match was decided because of MIRAI’s selfishness. So, let me be selfish. If MIRAI doesn’t produce any results in this match, I don’t want to fight MIRAI again. Please.” (H/T goes to meraWRESTLING for English translation.)

MIRAI has a golden opportunity on April 25th to prove to Hayashishita that she is in fact worthy of being the next challenger for the Marigold World Championship. You can bet that MIRAI will make the most of this opportunity in an effort to secure a shot at Hayashishita’s Red Belt.
