Unagi Sayaka States That Marigold Needs To Stop Relying On Outside Talent To Attract Fans

On August 9th, Marigold held it’s SUMMER DESTINY 2026 event at the Ota City General Gymnasium.

The event featured stars that are currently attached to other promotions as well as freelancers.

One freelancer that competed at MARIGOLD SUMMER DESTINY 2026 was Unagi Sayaka. Sayaka faced and defeated Megaton in just under eight minutes.

After her victory, Sayaka had a few choice words for Marigold and Rossy Ogawa. Sayaka stated that she thinks it’s time for Marigold to begin making a name for itself instead of relying on non-Marigold talent in an attempt to attract fans.

From Unagi Sayaka:

“Hey, Marigold. Isn’t it about time you guys started making a name for yourselves? Instead of trying to draw a crowd by bringing in wrestlers who might attract fans from other promotions, you should start by each of you standing firmly on your own two feet. Hey, Rossy Ogawa. Ogawa listened to Sayaka’s in-ring post-match comments with somewhat of a smirk on his face.

Unagi Sayaka had been with STARDOM from 2020-2022. Last year Sayaka revealed that she was fired from STARDOM in late 2022. Rossy Ogawa was the main booker for STARDOM in 2022 in addition to being the founder of the promotion.
