Suzu Suzuki’s next challenger for the World of Stardom Championship has been decided. After picking up a tag victory in Sakae, Starlight Kid declared herself as the next in line for a shot at the red belt.
The event opened with Neo Genesis duo Starlight Kid and Miyu Amasaki picking up a win over Mi Vida Loca’s Suzuki and Akira Kurogane. While it was Amasaki who scored the fall, landing a Tensei on Kurogane, Starlight Kid was the one feeling full of fire in the post-match. Grabbing the microphone, Starlight Kid declared:
I’m the greedy challenger who’s next in line to challenge for Suzu’s belt… I hadn’t decided on a date for this important challenge. As a greedy challenger, I’m greedy, greedy, greedy—I want to challenge in a big match!
With that, the decision was made. Kid chose Crimson Nightmare on October 29th at the Tokyo EBARA WAVE Arena Ota. Suzuki was not feeling as verbose, quickly agreeing to the match before taking her leave. In the post-match comments, Kid shared more on her title intentions:
The date has been set for the match between the ‘Eager Champion’ and the ‘Greedy Challenger’! October 29th, at the [EBARA WAVE Arena Ota]! I’ve been fighting in this style all along and have delivered results where it counts, so I certainly don’t need Suzu Suzuki telling me what to do. I’m just one step away from the Grand Slam.
On the other hand, Suzuki was still not feeling the need to speak much:
That was a long mic segment! I found myself thinking, ‘How long is this girl going to keep on talking?’ That was the first match, after all! She talked even more than the main event performers. Anyone who rambles on like that will never win this belt in their lifetime.
In the main event, fiery words were shared around the Wonder of Stardom Title. The current champion, Hanan, got a pinfall on her upcoming challenger and younger sister, Hina, laying her out with the backdrop hold. Taking the microphone, Hanan hit back at Hina over some things she has been saying lately:
This was the first preliminary bout for this white belt, wasn’t it, Hina? You’ve been going on and on about me being “naive” or “lacking bite”, even saying it right there in the ring, but losing to the champion in the very first preliminary bout—isn’t younger sister Hina the one who’s actually naive?
Hina did not take Hanan’s words quietly, taking the microphone for herself and retorting:
I feel even more strongly now, based on today’s result, that we understand each other better through our actions in the ring than through words… It’s frustrating, but even so, I’ll keep speaking my mind. I believe I can generate more excitement as the White Belt champion than you can, Hanan. I can say that with confidence, even after losing this first preliminary match today… You might look strong now, but I’ll push you so hard you won’t even be able to keep up that composed expression—so be prepared.
