In breaking news, STARDOM superstar Natsupoi held a press conference today to announce that she will be retiring from in-ring competition with her final bout set for Jan. 3rd 2027.
Natsupoi, who was joined by President Okada for the announcement, revealed the reason for her decision to retire:
From Natsupoi:
“I’ve been a pro wrestler for 12 years, and during that time, I’ve had the opportunity to take on all sorts of challenges and gain a wide range of experiences. This year, I also announced my marriage, and I’ve started thinking about the next chapter of my life. That’s what led me to decide I’d like to pursue a life separate from being a pro wrestler.”

Natsupoi unsuccessfully challenged Syuri for the IWGP Women’s Championship on July 18th and was hoping to make one more splash as a singles competitor. She indicated regardless whether she won the title or not, she was going to retire either way.
From Natsupoi:
“I challenged for this title with the desire to make one last splash as a singles competitor. Whether I won the title or not, I had already made the decision to retire. If I had won it, I was determined to keep going until the very end with that belt around my waist, so right now I’m truly filled with regret, but my decision to retire hasn’t changed.”
President Okada acknowledged that while he respects her decision, he was holding out hope she would remain with STARDOM and compete longer than her announced retirement date.
From President Okada:
“It’s really typical of her—she’s always so straightforward. That was certainly the case when she confided in us about her marriage, and she’s the kind of wrestler who has always given her all in every match. So even though I knew her decision to retire wouldn’t change easily, part of me still held out hope. I believe the fact remains that she is still in a position where she could aim even higher as a wrestler. However, considering her next chapter in life—or rather, her decision to bring her pro-wrestling career to a close while she’s still able to perform at her best—I want to respect this decision.”

Natsupoi is married to NJPW superstar Shingo Takagi.
Natsupoi made her pro-wrestling debut in 2015 and has been competing for STARDOM since 2020. She has enjoyed a very successful career as a Joshi Puroresu star.
President Okada stated that if Natsupoi ever changes her mind, she will always be welcomed back to STARDOM.
