Shuji Ishikawa Says Evolution Girls Will Rival STARDOM

With Shuji Ishikawa appointed General Manager of Evolution Girls, he has high hopes for the brand moving forward.

After stating his intentions to leave AJPW at the end of January, Ishikawa was appointed general manager of Evolution Girls – formerly All Japan’s all-women brand led by Suwama before the partnership was broken off by President Fukuda in favor of Actwres girl’Z, which is currently led by President Keiji Sakaguchi and Advisor Fuuka Kakimoto.

Ishikawa has high hopes for the brand since assuming his position, and he wishes to get Evolution Girls to a point where it can challenge industry leader STARDOM. h/t Tokyo Sports

“I’ll do whatever it takes to be able to get Evolution Girls to grow bigger and bigger, and to be able to challenge the number one company. Of course, our goal is produce talents who can reach the very top of women’s pro-wrestling, even if [Evo Girls] doesn’t have a championship.”

The new general manager plans to have ten wrestlers in the company’s roster by the end of the year including current members Chi Chi, ZONES, and their newest debut Soy.

Suwama will continue to serve as producer for Evolution Girls alongside Ishikawa’s new office position. Ishikawa will additionally wrestle on Evolution Girls shows moving forward.

It was also announced alongside Ishikawa’s appointment as general manager that former Evo Girls wrestler Sunny will make her debut as a referee for the group on February 18th.
