It was announced on May 27th that Bushiroad sold all of its shares of New Japan Pro-Wrestling to CyberAgent and TV Asahi for 3.8 billion yen.
With CyberAgent and TV Asahi becoming the new owners of NJPW, long time star of the promotion Shingo Takagi weighed in on the development during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel.
Takagi thanked Bushiroad for the past fourteen years and stated he is unclear what will happen next.
From Shingo Takagi:
“I know the owners personally, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them once again for the past 14 years. Just like when LIJ (Los Ingobernables de Japón) disbanded, I’m in a situation where I’m wondering, ‘What’s going to happen?’ but I’m really looking forward to it. I guess I just have to stay positive and do my best to show everyone a bright future.”
During the podcast, Takagi pulled out a postcard with a quote from the legendary Antonio Inoki that read:
“No matter how rough the road may be, let’s walk it with a smile.”
Takagi stated he wants to do things that keeps him smiling.
