Rico Kaiju Retires; Beyond the Sea Tag Team Titles Returned

The Beast Kid has decided to retire from wrestling, leaving the Beyond the Sea Tag Team Championships vacant

By: James Carlin

Editor’s Note: Natsuki Taiyo announced on the December 28th show “Last Battle” that Kaiju will instead be indefinitely absent and not retiring, as was previously reported.

The surprise announcement that twenty-one year old Rico Kaiju has retired at today’s SEAdLINNNG press conference has meant that her scheduled championship defence with Ayame Sasamura against Arisa Nakajima and Sareee has been cancelled. Kaiju and Sasmura, known as Little Twin Berries, have returned their Beyond The Sea Tag Team championships, meaning that the titles are now vacant.

Kaiju, also known as Riko Blondie, had previously been absent for Sukeban’s show in Miami last week and was replaced by the debuting Rina Yamashita. Sasamura will now challenge Sareee for her Beyond the Sea Championship at Korakuen Hall on December 28th.

Both Arisa Nakajima and Natsuki Taiyo have apologized to fans for the sudden announcement, individually saying they were sorry that the scheduled championship match had to be changed.

Kaiju is a former Princess of Pro-Wrestling champion, having defeated Crea for the title at Pure-J Climax in December last year, before losing the belt to Chie Ozora after four months with two successful defences.

Most recently Kaiju and Sasamura teamed together to defeat their Las Fresa de Egoistas stablemates VENY and Makoto to win the Beyond the Sea Tag Team championships announcing their split from the unit following the title match.
