Welcome to Puroresu Gate, a weekly feature where we review attendance figures of Puroresu and Joshi promotions in the most well-known venues in Japan.
This week, we are looking at the 1,800-seat Korakuen Hall. Known as the MECCA of Japanese Pro Wrestling, this venue is used by every Puroresu and Joshi promotion and is considered sacred ground for fans and wrestlers alike.
Big Japan Pro Wrestling’s status as the world’s biggest promotion dedicated to the Deathmatch style will probably always remain unchallenged and for good reason. Their latest event at Korakuen Hall saw them put on one hell of a main event of Yuji Okabayashi and Chicharito Shoki going up against Masashi Takeda and Takumi Tsukamoto.

Big Japan Pro Wrestling brought their unique blend of Strong Style and Deathmatch wrestling to a small but enthusiastic crowd in Korakuen Hall this week. The event featured a special inter-promotional match with Alex Colon, Mance Warner, and Effy from the U.S. independent promotion Game Changer Wrestling going up against BJPW stars Ryuji Ito, Jaki Numazawa, and Masaya Takahashi in a violent Fluorescent Light Tube Deathmatch!
