If you’ve ever paid attention to the independent wrestling scene in the United Kingdom, there’s a strong chance you’ve seen Chris Ridgeway on the show cards.
Rightfully called by fans by the affectionate nickname “hard as f*ck”, his incredible blend of technical and strong-style wrestling has made him many enemies throughout his time wrestling –most importantly it gave him the opportunity to join Pro Wrestling NOAH starting in 2019, capturing the GHC Junior Heavyweight tag titles alongside Yoshinari Ogawa as part of the unit Stinger.
I’ve had chance to sit for a second and it has just hit me. I am so happy and I am so grateful. Thank you so much for all the support I truly mean it.

Most recently Ridgeway has found himself on top of the mountain of British wrestling, defeating Warren Banks in the finals of the prestigious Super Strong Style 16 tournament, ousting the legendary Dean Allmark, NXT UK’s Charlie Dempsey and fan-favourite Gene Munny in the process, capturing the vacant PROGRESS World Championship.

Already much loved figure back at home, it’s only a matter of time until Ridgeway becomes a beloved name in Japan as well, and if his past and present is anything to go by, he’ll continue his hard-hitting and pathological dissection of opponents in a bid to one day be at the top of the puroresu food chain and that’s why Chris Ridgeway is this week’s one to watch.
