Editor’s Note: On December 25th, William Regal announced that his son Charlie Dempsey would be the wrestler representing NXT on January 3rd at All Japan Pro-Wrestling.
After the announcement that All Japan Pro-Wrestling had a working partnership with Actwres girl’Z, NXT will be sending a wrestler over to the Japanese company on January 3rd. The news came of NXT’s involvement with AJPW through a video posted on SNS where the company’s president, Tsuyoki Fukuda, was seen with AWG performers Chika Goto, Riko Fukunaga and AWG Single Champion Miku Aono.
The president recieved a phone call in English from WWE who wished to send one of their performers over next year. The hints of the wrestler were “submission assassin” with a “killer catch style”, which seems to be hinting at someone from NXT’s No Quarter Catch Crew, led by Drew Gulak.
January 3rd will see All Japan run Korakuen Hall for New Year’s Giant Series 2024, where the unnamed NXT wrestler will challenge for the AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight championship. Katsuhiko Nakajima and Kento Miyahara are scheduled to fight for the company’s top belt on December 31st.

Last year, WWE sent over Shinsuke Nakamura to Pro-Wrestling NOAH so that he could face The Great Muta as part of the legendary wrestler’s retirement road at The New Year 2023. This will mark the second year in a row that the entertainment powerhouse will be collaborating with a Japanese wrestling company to start off the year.
