NJPW Announce SANADA is on Indefinite Leave

At New Year Dash, SANADA alluded to taking some time away from NJPW. Today, the promotion has formally announced that SANADA is on indefinite leave.

The official statement on the NJPW website reads as follows:

Effective January 6, SANADA is on an indefinite leave of absence from competition. No return date is determined at this time.

We apologise to fans looking forward to seeing SANADA wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

At New Year Dash, SANADA made his entrance with an electronic screen attached to a guitar. The screen flashed a message that read ‘Goodbye NJPW’. SANADA took part in a trios match, teaming with Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Yujiro Takahashi in a defeat to Bishamon and Oleg Boltin. SANADA had a few more words in his post-match comments.
