New Japan, AJPW and NOAH announce All Together Again for June 9th

By: James Carlin

A few days ago, a sudden press conference was announced for April 12th with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, All Japan Pro-Wrestling and Pro-Wrestling NOAH. Now we know what the press conference was for, as the three companies have teamed up to bring back the All Together event on June 9th, which makes the first since February 2012 after the Tohoku earthquake in 2011 and will take place at Ryogoku Sumo Hall.

The show’s subtitle makes reference to Antonio Inoki and his catchphrase “If you have energy, you can do anything!”.

The event will have both English and Japanese commentary airing on NJPW World as a PPV with a portion of the proceeds from the show going towards charity.

At the conference, New Japan Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi said that a feeling of a new beginning and renewal as well as a desire to energize the world through pro-wrestling let to the decision to bring back the show for the first time in 11 years.

Hiroshi Tanahashi representing NJPW, Kento Miyahara representing AJPW and Kaito Kiyomiya representing NOAH arrived on stage and sat down to talk about All Together Again.

Kiyomiya mentions that he was in high school when the first All Together was held, and he got the feeling that the staff and wrestlers have to have as much fun as the fans, expressing his excitement for the show.

Miyahara takes the microphone and states that he is hyped for what kind of matches can be produced only from a show such as this, highlighting that now cheering has returned, he is excited for the new start.

Tanahashi states that the aim of the show is to give fans an energy that they can take home to their friends, family and beyond, alongside allowing them to enjoy pro-wrestling to the fullest.

Miyahara brings up that in a generational sense, everyone is together – taking note that Kiyomiya has carried NOAH at such a young age, whilst himself and Tanahashi are in their 30s and 40s.

Kiyomiya talks about how he never met Inoki, but hopes that the idea of never giving up and moving forward is expressed through the show, with Miyahara adding that it means a lot to have Inoki’s catchphrase as the subtitle to the show, promising to bring more energy than everyone else.
