Natsupoi Is Determined To Maintain The Passion Of Tam Nakano And Prove Herself A Leader Within STARDOM

On April 27th at Stardom All-Star Grand Queendom 2025, Cosmic Angels leader Tam Nakano was forced to retire when she lost a career vs. career against Saya Kamitani. Unfortunately, Nakano wasn’t the only top star to leave STARDOM in recent months.

In addition to Nakano’s retirement, STARDOM saw superstars Mina Shirakawa and Mayu Iwatani both decide to leave and join other companies. To make matters worse, STARDOM will be without Maika for a indefinite amount of time as she has stepped away to heal a severely injured elbow.

With all those major exits, the role of leadership within STARDOM has opened up and there is at least one who is hoping to step in and assume the responsibility. Natsupoi, who was a close ally of Nakano’s, spoke with Tokyo Sports recently and indicated that she is determined to prove herself by making her upcoming May 31st show a huge success. She mentioned that Nakano wanted to achieve many things before her retirement. Due to this, Natsupoi has the intention maintaining Nakano’s passion by aiming higherfor herself.

From Natsupoi:

“The responsibility of leading STARDOM is heavier than ever. I think there were many things that Tam-chan wanted to achieve, so I want to aim even higher in my own way. To do that, I want to make May 31st a huge success and prove myself.”

Natsupoi revealed that she had an opportunity to face Nakano in a match before her retirement but ultimately turned it down. She indicated that it didn’t feel right and wanted to compete against Nakano at a higher level for a major title.

From Natuspoi:

“I suppose there may have been the idea of fighting her to push her forward, but Tam-chan had always fought in the face of adversity, so for me, it didn’t feel right. So, I turned it down because I wanted to fight Tam-chan at a higher level, like for the Red Belt or the IWGP Women’s title. We did promise each other, ‘Let’s definitely get through this ordeal and have a singles match someday.’”

After World of STARDOM Champion Saya Kamitani defeated Sayaka Kurara on May 11th, Kamitani mentioned that she is running on her own right now in STARDOM and hopes someone comes along who can compete with her.

Natsupoi has proven that she is a terrific competitor and has held numerous titles including the Wonder of STARDOM Championship. If Kamitani is hoping for someone to come along who can compete with her for the Red Belt, she may want to look at Cosmic Angels again as Natsupoi is poised and ready take the next step in her pro-wrestling career.
