Momo Kohgo Has Considered Giving Up Many Times Due To Her STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 Struggles But Vows To Keep Fighting

By: Lewis Carlan

When the STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025  kicked off on July 27th, all 32 competitors had their adrenaline pumping with the goal of winning the tournament. Many promos were cut by various entrants with each claiming they were going to win the entire competition.

Prior to the start of the STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025, Momo Kohgo, who is a member of the STARS unit, said that she was training for the tournament and was fully pumped for each battle. Kohgo was placed in the Blue Stars B Block and her first opponent in the 5★STAR GP 2025 was Momo Watanabe back on July 27th.

Kohgo took to X on July 26th and indicated that she absolutely couldn’t lose to Watanabe, who is a member of the rival H.A.T.E. unit. Despite her confidence heading into the match and her vow that she couldn’t lose, Kohgo fell in defeat to Watanabe via submission in less than 3 minutes.

That loss appeared to take the wind out of Kohgo’s sails as she lost her next three matches to Suzu Suzuki, HANAKO & Konami. When Aug. 11 rolled around, Kohgo faced Ranna Yagami in Kobe. Kohgo had four tournament matches under her belt without a win. She desperately needed a victory over Yagami.

Kohgo took to X once again on Aug. 10 and declared that she would definitely get a victory over Yagami. Unfortunately for Kohgo, that would not be the case as she suffered her fifth straight loss of the STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025.

With zero points, Kohgo remained in last place of the Blue Stars B Block with no hope of advancing to the next round of the tournament.

A very disappointed Kohgo took to social media following her loss to Yagami and expressed anger at herself. Kohgo revealed that she thought about giving up many times but her fan support kept her going. She vowed to fight until she can change her situation.

From Momo Kohgo:

“I’m angry with myself. What the hell is this result!? No matter how positive I try to be or how hard I strive, nothing changes. I lost to the kids I’ve watched since my training days, and the situation just keeps getting worse. Is it that those who suffer in agony will always remain in that position? It’s painful. It’s tough. I want to give up. Honestly, I’ve thought that many times. But there are people who say they want to support me. During the match, I could hear voices calling my name. I’ve seen many posts saying they want me to win and that they support me. Everyone’s voices help me stand up. Professional wrestler Momo Kohgo is living together with everyone. I will keep fighting until I change this situation!! Thank you, everyone.”

Kohgo has two matches left in the STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 tournament against Hina and Sareee. They will be tough matches for Kohgo especially with her broken spirit.

Could fan support lift Kohgo to her first win in the tournament? She did state that the fans have kept her going and prevented her from quitting.

She has two opportunities to secure a victory in the 5★STAR GP 2025 and Sareee and Hina should be prepared for a determined Kohgo.
