On May 24th, the world of professional wrestling will bid farewell to one of the greats ever to set foot into the ring. Nanae Takahashi is set to retire at Marigold’s SHINE FOREVER 2025 event in Yoyogi. Takahashi is set to face Miku Aono in her final bout.
It is expected to be a very emotional moment for Takahashi who has enjoyed an incredible 28 year career as a pro-wrestler.
Ahead of her final match, Takahashi received encouraging words from another legend who recently retired, Meiko Satomura.
Satomura, who retired on April 29th, recorded a video message for Takahashi. Satomura let Takahashi know that she is cheering for her.
From Meiko Satomura:
“Stay true to yourself until the very end, and give it your all on the day. I’m cheering you on.”
With Satomura now officially retired and Takahashi stepping away on May 24th, the world of pro-wrestling has lost two of its all time great competitors. It only makes sense that they have encouraging words for one another.
