Three-time IMPACT World Tag Team champions, former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team champions, and former NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team champions. The Motor City Machine Guns return to Japan for the first time in seven years, when they challenged the Young Bucks for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Titles at Ariake Coliseum in August 2016.
Their trio is rounded out with the former and longest reigning IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander, who very surprisingly makes his Japan debut in this match. However, he’s no stranger to tag team action, having teamed with AEW’s Ethan Page under multiple different names over the years.

This incredible set of challenges comes after Hiroshi Tanahashi made an appeal backstage on September 9th, asking for a trio from IMPACT to face himself, Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii. It was only last month that Alex Shelley retained his IMPACT World Championship against Tanahashi at Multiverse United 2, and it seems that The Ace wants revenge for his loss not only on Shelley, but the rest of IMPACT Wrestling as well.
