The current Marigold Superfly Champion Mayu Iwatani will be out of action for three consecutive events due to an ankle injury she has sustained.
She missed the Oct. 17 event at Chikujo Town Community Center Sopia and will not be competing on the Oct. 18th & 19th shows. All three events she will miss are part of the Marigold Battle Heart 2025 tour.
Mayu Iwatani released a statement on social media regarding the injury.
From Mayu Iwatani:
“I will be absent for three consecutive matches, and I’m truly sorry. I will focus on recovering properly.”
Marigold apologized to the fans and asked for their understanding due to the unfortunate situation.
Here is the full statement from Marigold:
“Due to an ankle injury, Mayu Iwatani will take a break and miss the three consecutive tour matches October 17, 18 and 19. We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were looking forward to the matches for this sudden change, and we kindly ask for your understanding.”
Iwatani is looking to rest up as she has a huge match upcoming on October 26th against WWE superstar IYO SKY at Marigold GRAND DESTINY 2025 at Ryogoku Kokugikan.
