Mayu Iwatani Retains Marigold Super Flyweight Title Plus Full Burning Desire 2025 Results For 6/5/2025

The Marigold Burning Desire 2025 tour rolled into Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo on June 5th. There were over 400 fans in attendance to witness the event.

The featured match-up saw Mayu Iwatani defend her Super Flyweight Championship for the first time against Darkness Revolution faction member Misa Matsui.

In an exciting encounter that lasted over thirteen minutes, Iwatani was able to overcome the challenge of Matsui after hitting a top rope moonsault for the victory.

During her post-match backstage comments, Iwatani praised Matsui.

From Mayu Iwatani:

“It was my first time meeting Misa Matsui, my first time fighting her, and my first title match. She was insanely strong. It’s crazy, she’s so strong! I wonder why no one knows about such a great player.”

Iwatani called out Marvelous superstar and current GHC Women’s Champion Takumi Iroha following her victory over Matsui.

In other action, in a battle of young superstars, Victoria Yuzuki faced Seri Yamaoka in a highly anticipated first time singles encounter. Both combatants were looking for a victory as both are considered to be the future of Joshi Puroresu.

The match was hotly contested with a number of near falls but in the end, Yuzuki and Yamaoka had to settle for a time limit draw. This is expected to be the first of many matches between  these two young incredible talents.

After the match, Yamaoka said it was frustrating that the match ended in a draw.

From Seri Yamaoka:

“I finally had a singles match with Victoria Yuzuki, and it was frustrating that it ended in a draw. But even if it hadn’t been a draw, I felt like I should have won, so it was a really frustrating match.”

• Kouki Amarei & Kizuna Tanaka defeated Hummingbird & Nagisa Tachibana (8:24) after a Buzzsaw kick from Tanaka against Tachibana
• Miku Aono, Chika Goto & Yuuki Minami defeated Nagisa Nozaki, CHIAKI & Megaton (12:16) after a Ground Cobra Twist from Goto to Megaton.
• Victoria Yuzuki vs. Seri Yamaoka – Time Limit Draw (15:00).
• Mai Sakurai, Chanyota & Komomo Minami defeated Utami Hayashishita, MIRAI & Rea Seto (13:47) after a jackhammer from Chanyota against Seto.
• Marigold Super Flyweight Title: Mayu Iwatani (c) defeated Misa Matsui (13:01) with a Moonsault Press (1st defense).
