Marigold “Super Rookie” Shinno Omukai States She Is Ready For Her Debut, Mai Sakurai Vows Not To Go Easy On Her

On May 24th, another highly touted Marigold “super rookie” Shinno Omukai is set to make her debut for the promotion at SHINE FOREVER 2025 which is scheduled to take place at Yoyogi National Stadium.

The 16 year old Omukai is jumping right into the fire. On May 5th, she challenged the current Marigold United National Champion Mai Sakurai to be her debut opponent. Sakurai accepted and the match between the two became official for May 24th.

Omukai will be the youngest rookie to debut for Marigold and has been labelled another “super rookie” for Rossy Ogawa’s promotion.

She initially signed with Marigold back on July 13th 2024 and has been training ever since to prepare for her debut match.

Despite being happy that Omukai picked her, Sakurai has vowed that she will not go easy on the young rookie in a recent post on X:

“5.24 at Yoyogi, Shinno will make her debut. She is the youngest in Marigold. 16 year old rookie. For her debut match I am very happy that you picked me. I was very happy. Thank you. It’s my first time too. But I won’t take it easy on you just because you’re a rookie. I’m going to teach you how tough it is to fight against a champion. I’m going to teach you how to fight with the champions.”

Omukai responded to Sakurai’s post and proclaimed that she will be ready on May 24th:

“Thank you for the Marigold Korakuen Hall event. May 24th at Yoyogi National Stadium 2nd Gymnasium
Please come and see the pro-wrestler Shinno who is not a trainee! Mai-san I am ready! I’m going to do it! I look forward to working with you!”

Omukai has pro-wrestling in her blood as she is the oldest daughter of the legendary Michiko Omukai.

On May 24th, Shinno Omukai will get a chance to prove to the world if she has in fact earned the title of “super rookie” against one of the best in Mai Sakurai.
