Maika Wins One-Day Tournament for Right to Challenge for the Red Belt

Maika will face either Suzu Suzuki or Hazuki at Dream Queendom 2024 for the vacant World of Stardom championship

By: James Carlin

Yesterday STARDOM had over 1,100 people inside the legendary Korakuen Hall as a one-day tournament to decide who will challenge for the Red Belt was put in place after Tam Nakano was forced to vacate the championship due to knee injury suffered a few months back.

Maika, Ami Sohrei, Mina Shirakawa and Momo Watanabe all took part in this four woman tournament. Despite all the trash talk online between Sohrei and Maika, it was the Crimson Empress who emerged with the victory, advancing against God’s Chosen Big Girl and moving into the second round, whilst Watanabe defeated Shirakawa to move into the finals alongside Maika.

In the finals, the electricity of the crowd continued as it had done throuhgout the course of the show, as Watanabe and Maika, two incredible powerhouse performers, had a hard-hitting affair and no shortage of Oedo-Tai distractions. However it was Maika that emerged as the tournament winner, hitting her Michonoku Driver II on Watanabe followed by the pinfall.

The crowd started a loud “Maika!” chant as the Crimson Empress gathered herself and called Suzu Suzuki to the ring, saying she better not lose to Hazuki on December 2nd. Suzuki remarks that she’ll obviously beat the Wildheart, and that the “beginning of hell starts for you here”. She continued: “You lost to me in the 5★STAR Finals, and you’ll lose to me again at Ryogoku Sumo Hall”.

Nagoya Big Winter on December 2nd will see Divine Kgindom (Maika and Megan Bayne) facing off against AphroditE (Utami Hayashishita and Saya Kamitani) for the vacant Goddess of Stardom championships, despite Divine Kingdom having the physical championships around their waist and claiming they should be the champions. The Crimson Empress has a big month ahead of her, and it could end with her starting 2024 as a double champion.

STARDOM is Plagued By Injuries. Here’s a Recap.
