Kosei Fujita and YOH Advance to NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Finals

By Noah Leatherland

The final two men in the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tournament have been decided. In a pair of semi-finals that pit former tag title co-holders against each other, Kosei Fujita and YOH punched their tickets to the finals.

The first semi-final saw Fujita facing off with his fellow TMDK member and Ichiban Sweet Boy, Robbie Eagles. The longtime tag team partners did not hold back on one another. In the end, it was Fujita who emerged victorious, managing to land a Thrill Ride on Eagles and secure a three-count. Speaking after the match, Fujita will be walking into the final full of confidence:

Let me get the most important thing out of the way first. I don’t for a second think I’ve surpassed Robbie with this. I saw the look on his face in the dressing room before the match, and the look on his face after I’d won. Having seen that, there’s no way I’m losing the final. I’m definitely going to win it! Believe in me and wait for it, all of you.

Then, the main event saw YOH up against Master Wato to decide the opposite side of the bracket. YOH took the second spot in the grand final by making Wato submit to his Anaconda Vice submission.

The two finalists came face-to-face in the ring to close the show, with YOH then taking a moment to address the crowd:

Just one more win, right? I’m going to bring a nice breeze to Ota Ward.

Kosei Fujita and YOH will meet in the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Final on June 7th, in the Ota City General Gymnasium. The bout will be a rematch of last year’s BOSJ Final, where Fujita came out on top and took the trophy.
