Kento Miyahara Vows That Go Shiozaki Will Not Touch The Triple Crown Title

By: Lewis Carlan

When Kento Miyahara won the All Japan Pro-Wrestling Triple Crown Championship for the seventh time back on Sept. 23, he made a vow to defend it on Oct. 22 despite not having an opponent confirmed.

On Oct. 11, we saw former Pro Wrestling NOAH superstar Go Shiozaki make his return to AJPW after a ten year absence and he went right after his former Xceed tag team partner Miyahara.

Shiozaki was revealed as Shotaro Ashino’s mystery partner and new member of HAVOC as they faced Miyahara & Hideki Suzuki.

Miyahara and Shiozaki battled each other in and out of the ring before Miyahara was disqualified for using a chair on his former partner.

With Shiozaki confirmed to face Miyahara for the Triple Crown Championship on Oct. 22 at Korakuen Hall, a press conference was held on Oct. 16th to promote the event.

Miyahara got a bit personal as he made comments at the press conference aimed at Shiozaki. The Triple Crown Champion brought up Shiozaki leaving AJPW ten years ago when he and Miyahara were AJPW World Tag Team Champions to join Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Miyahara mentioned that the tag belts had to be vacated due to Shiozaki’s departure. He made a vow that Shiozaki won’t even be touching the Triple Crown Title when they meet on Oct. 22 which insinuates that Miyahara doesn’t plan on losing.

From Kento Miyahara:

“Ten years ago, All Japan Pro Wrestling had a unit called Xceed. When leader Go Shiozaki left the promotion, the unit was left to its own devices. Members came and went, belts were relinquished, the unit was left to its own devices. Do you understand what Go Shiozaki wants? On October 22nd, we won’t let that man touch the Triple Crown Championship.” (translation via Deepl)

Shiozaki is confirmed for a full slate of AJPW events and would love nothing more than to regain the AJPW Triple Crown Title he last held back in May 2015. Miyahara has no intention of having his seventh title reign ended in less than a month.

Shiozaki will have the full backing of his HAVOC faction members when he faces Miyahara which means things have the potential to get very interesting and even spiral out of control inside of Korakuen Hall in October 22.
