Back on Jan. 27 2013, KENTA won the GHC Heavyweight Championship for the first and only time in his career. He held the title for nearly a year before losing it on Jan. 5 2014.
On May 3rd, KENTA has an opportunity to regain the coveted GHC Heavyweight Championship as he will face the current champion OZAWA for the title at NOAH’s MEMORIAL VOYAGE 2025 in KOKUGIKAN event.
KENTA and OZAWA have been in a back and forth war of words on X in the lead up to their huge main event on May 3rd. OZAWA has been trying to get into the head of KENTA but appears to be failing.
OZAWA defeated Kaito Kiyomiya back on Jan. 1 2025 for the GHC Heavyweight Championship to usher in a new era for Pro Wrestling NOAH. He has made three successful title defenses since becoming champion but his fourth, against KENTA, will be his toughest defense to date.
On April 14th, KENTA pinned OZAWA following a GTS in a tag team match. With that win, KENTA is heading into the GHC Heavyweight Title match with lots of momentum on his side.
There is a very good possibility that KENTA will become a two time GHC Heavyweight Champion on May 3rd but he will have to get past OZAWA and that will not be an easy task.
