Katsuhiko Nakajima Defeats Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Chris Vice Returns at ZERO1 Event in Shin-Kiba

By: Ian McCord

On August 22nd, Pro Wrestling ZERO1 made its return to Shin-Kiba 1stRING for an event that saw the return of Chris Vice and Fire Festival 2026 winner Katsuhiko Nakajima taking on Kuroshio TOKYO Japan in singles competition.

During the second match of the event, former ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion Chris Vice made his in-ring return after being out of action for nearly four months due to a severe ankle injury that caused him to miss this year’s Fire Festival. At the event, Vice teamed with Kouki Iwasaki to defeat Takuya Sugawara and Bryan Ishizaka in tag team competition. Vice secured the victory for his team after planting Takuya Sugawara with a Package Piledriver in just over ten minutes.

In the main event, the man carrying the Fire Festival Sword, Katsuhiko Nakajima, battled Kuroshio TOKYO Japan in a special singles match. The man behind Pro Wrestling Up Town, Kuroshio TOKYO Japan, challenged Nakajima to a match following his victory over Masato Tanaka in the Fire Festival final, which Nakajima accepted, making their match official for the August 22nd event.

After over 23 minutes of action, Nakajima defeated Kuroshio TOKYO Japan via submission with a Prison Hold to score the win.

The victory in Shin-Kiba puts Nakajima’s singles record in ZERO1 at 9-1 since returning to the promotion earlier this year. With such a dominant singles record, it seems it’s only a matter of time before Nakajima comes looking for a shot at the ZERO1 World Heavyweight Championship, which is currently held by Junya Matsunaga.

ZERO1 action returns on August 30th for Yamanashi Pro Wrestling Festival at the Koze Sports Park Gymnasium Sub Arena in Yamanashi. The event is scheduled to see Junya Matsunaga make his first defense of the ZERO1 World Heavyweight Championship against Koji Doi.
