Junya Matsunaga and Tsugutaka Sato are set to defend the Intercontinental Tag Team Titles against Yuya Aoki and Daichi Hashimoto on May 9th when ZERO1 returns to Shin-Kiba 1stRING.
ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion Junya Matsunaga and Tsugutaka Sato won the Intercontinental Tag Titles back in December of 2025, defeating Hayabusa and Jinsei Shinzaki in the finals of ZERO1’s Furinkazan Tag Team Tournament to capture the vacant championships. They successfully defended the titles back on February 7th in Itabashi against the Kubota Brothers.
This will be Matsunaga and Sato’s first defense of the championships since Matsunaga won the ZERO1 World Heavyweight Title last month.
The challengers, Yuya Aoki and Daichi Hashimoto, known for their years working for Big Japan Pro-Wrestling, wrestled one another at ZERO1’s 25th Anniversary event with Hashimoto walking away with the victory. If Aoki and Hashimoto can stay on the same page, they have the opportunity to walk away with championship gold in Shin-Kiba.
Also on the card, Hayabusa will battle Bryan Ishizaka and Fuminori Abe in a 3-way match, and Chris Vice is set to take on Yuko Miyamoto in a hardcore match.
