Huge GLEAT vs. Marigold Match Set For October 9th, Mayu Iwatani Issues Comment

Back on Sept. 12th, Marigold owner Rossy Ogawa indicated that he was considering sending the Icon Peach Arrow trio of Marigold Superfly Champion Mayu Iwatani, Marigold United National Champion Victoria Yuzuki & Komomo Minami to other promotions to compete. Ogawa’s reasoning was that he wanted fans who may not be familiar with Icon Peach Arrow to see them in action.

Well, Ogawa has decided to pull the trigger on his consideration, as it was announced that Iwatani, Yuzuki and Minami are heading to GLEAT to battle MICHIKO, Marika Kobashi & Unagi Sayaka. The huge bout is set for the Oct. 9th GLEAT event and will take place at the famed Korakuen Hall.

After the announcement, the “Icon” Mayu Iwatani took to X and issued a comment as she expressed excitement about her upcoming GLEAT debut:

“GLEAT’s debut match is decided!!!! I don’t usually watch other promotions, but I do watch a fair amount of YouTube, so let’s go see GLEAT live for the first time. Oh, does that make us the “outsiders”?! Let’s show them a match featuring Icon Peach Arrow!” (English translation via Deepl.com)

One has to wonder if this is just a one off match or the start of the GLEAT vs. Marigold rivalry. It could be the first match of many for Iwatani, Yuzuki & Minami in a rival promotion as Ogawa is trying to bring more awareness to Marigold by showcasing Icon Peach Arrow.
