Pro Wrestling NOAH have announced that that Hiroshi Tanahashi and HAYATA will team against Zack Sabre Jr. and Yoshinari Ogawa on January 2nd at Ariake Arena. This comes as Kaito Kiyomiya and Ryohei Oiwa represent NOAH in this year’s NJPW World Tag League tournament.
This year’s The New Year show saw WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura return to the puroresu world for the first time since January 2016, where he wrestled in the last match of the legendary Great Muta.

This will mark Tanahashi’s first match in the company since 2022, where he teamed with Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma against Keiji Mutoh, Yoshiki Inamura and Naomichi Marufuji. Earlier this year, Sabre Jr. teamed up with old NOAH partner Yoshinari Ogawa at EDION Arena Osaka on the nineth day of the N-1 Victory tournament, and their tag team match at The New Year will mark the second time since 2015 that the two will have teamed.
