With the tenth anniversary of the Wrestle Kingdom 8 fan vote coming up next year, Hiromu Takahashi has given his thoughts on bringing back the fan vote after seeing Kazuchika Okada’s response to the rumors in Tokyo Sports.
Backstage today at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s shows in Yamagata, the Ticking Time Bomb said that whilst he doesn’t get the excitement around another vote, he wishes to see the Jr. Heavyweights have the ability to main event in the future. “I want there to be a time where [New Japan] has the confidence to say ‘This match can be in the main event’. That’s the position I want to see the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship be in one day.” c/o NJPW
Takahashi will be defending his Jr. Heavyweight belt against El Desperado at Wrestle Kingdom 18, and he has recently wrestled for DDT Pro-Wrestling where he faced Kazuki Hirata for the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship at Ultimate Party.
