After holding the GHC National Title for almost a year and making six successful title defenses, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. has his sights set on Pro Wrestling NOAH’s top prize. On February 4th at NOAH’s CROSS OVER 2024 in SENDAI, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. will step into the ring as the latest challenger for the current GHC Heavyweight Champion KENOH. This will mark the first time Wagner Jr. will be competing for the GHC Heavyweight Title.
El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. made his desire to challenge KENOH for NOAH’s top championship known on January 13th at Star Navigation 2024. Following KENOH’s successful title defense against Go Shiozaki, Wagner Jr. came to the ring to confront KENOH and proclaimed that he wanted an opportunity at the GHC Heavyweight Title. The match between the two was made official shortly thereafter. KENOH and Wagner Jr. have been battling in preliminary bouts over the past week on various NOAH shows.

Ahead of the huge title match on February 4th, Pro Wrestling NOAH has released a new interview with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. that is available on their official YouTube channel. During the interview, Wagner Jr. had praise for KENOH referring to him as a “great wrestler”. He indicated that KENOH has a connection with the people which has inspired Wagner Jr. to try to be competitive with him. He also revealed that his dream is to win the GHC Heavyweight Championship.
El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr. made his debut for Pro Wrestling NOAH back in August 2019 in a six man match. Coincidentally, KENOH was on the opposing team during that encounter. In addition to GHC National Title, Wagner Jr. has also held the GHC Tag Team Championship on two occasions. On February 4th he hopes to realize his dream and add the GHC Heavyweight Championship to his resume. There is only one person that can prevent that and it comes in the form of KENOH.
