Arrivederci Donna del Mondo, Giulia Becomes Lone Wolf Once Again

One of STARDOM’s most dominant units has officially disbanded after four years

Donna del Mondo has now disbanded after STARDOM’s show at Tokyo Dome City Hall today. The group was one of the longest tenured units still around, having formed in early 2020 with Giulia, Maika and Syuri as their founding members. With the group now disbanded, all of them are gunning for the World of Stardom championship, currently held by Maika.

“It took you four years but that Red Belt looks good on you. But we’re going our separate ways. You have what I need.” Giulia stated the World of Stardom champion as she addressed her fellow Donna del Mondo members for the last time, after herself and Suzu Suzuki went to a twenty-minute draw with Divine Kingdom.

The NJPW STRONG Women’s champion and World of Stardom champion have teamed as Crazy Bloom since the inception of the group’s formation, entering the Goddess of Stardom Tag League together in 2020.

The champion continued, stating: “I want to go back to Giulia being a lone wolf. I want to go it alone” Giulia effectively said as she spoke on the microphone.

Mai Sakurai, in tears, grabbed the microphone and addressed her former leader, stating: “You brought me in. You watched me in the dojo, you watched me practice… but I have to get better. I will still follow Giulia, I still want to be with you!” refusing to believe the dissolution of the Women of the World.

It was only yesterday that the BariBari Bombers lost their Artist of Stardom championships to Abarenbo GE in the finals of the Triangle Derby tournament.

Thekla, Giulia’s Mafia Bella tag team partner, reacted to the group disbanding: “I have to think. I really have to think. I’m taking a break. When I come back to this STARDOM ring, I’ll be stronger than ever. I’ll be so strong. When I come back, I hope to get the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.”

With Thekla taking time off, Mai Sakurai promising to improve, Maika on top of the world and Giulia becoming a lone wolf, there’s now one less unit in town and many factionless members of STARDOM’s roster. This is the first time that the World of Stardom champion has been unaffiliated with any unit in six years, with Toni Storm having no faction affiliation during her time as the holder of the Red Belt.

The world of the wonder ring has been shaken up completely with the sudden dissolution of Donna del Mondo; and now the question is, what happens next?
